Fatal Railroad accident. Branchville, S. C., April 17. --Mr. Lee, a carpenter at Lee's Station on the Augusta Branch of the South Carolina Railroad, was run over to-day by the down passenger train from Augusta, and killed. He fell in attempting to cross the track. Mr. Lee leaves a large family to mourn his untimely end. He was a very worthy man.
The secession of Virginia. --The news of the secession of Virginia was communicated to Mr. Pryor at Augusta, as he was departing in the cars for Montgomery. The news was greeted with universal cheering, ringing of bells, firing of cannon and general expressions of joy. At Mobile the intelligence was received with great enthusiasm. Bells were rung, salutes fired, and the people seemed half frantic with delight.
