You have a large number of sick soldiers in Richmond, at an expense to the Government, who would be as well cared for it distributed among the kind people in the country. The crops are very fine and there will be a vast deal of corn and wheat for sale from this region. People are economizing in almost every particular, and thus adapting themselves to the extraordinary times in which we live. Large numbers of hogs are being raised, and I hear of some who have been offered 10 cents per pound for pork, but declined, expecting more. There has lately been a very interesting revival of religion at a church in Fluvanna, not far from here. Rev. C. R. Dickinson, the pastor, has baptized seventeen, and the interest continues to spread. There is much solemn religious feeling among many churches, not withstanding the times are so unfavorable for attending to the things which relate to the soul and eternity.
