It was with this conviction I accepted the seat I have now the honor to hold in Congress, and with which I have applied myself, and shall continue to apply any self until the close to its labors and duties.--The only distinction to which I aspire is, that my labors may deserve and obtain the public approbation. I cannot be indifferent to the applications from the District to offer myself at the approaching election, and now declare myself a candidate.--Should you, my fellow citizens, honor me with your support, my best efforts shall be devoted to the labors and duties of the high position. oc 1--tde Wm.
