War rumors. There was a report yesterday that the Yankees had effected a landing in Matthews county, Va., and that much excitement existed in consequence. We cannot vouch for the truth of the rumor. Matthews lies on the Chesapeake, adjoining Middlesex and Manchester counties, in an exposed situation.
