House of Representatives. Tuesday, March 25th, 1862. The House met at the usual hour, and was opened with prayer by Rev. Dr. Duncan.--Journal of yesterday read. The States were called alphabetically for memorials, resolutions, &c. Mr. Chilton, of Ala., introduced a resolution to authorize the printing of 300 copies of the Report of the Postmaster General, with accompanying exhibits, for the use of this House and the Post-Office Department.--Agreed to. Also, a bill to be entitled an act relating to the advertising of the Post-Office Department, Referred. Mr. Foster, of Ala., introduced a resolution that the committee appointed to inquire into the destruction of public property by officers of our army, be also instructed to inquire into the destruction of private property near Pensacola and Jacksonville, Florida.--Agreed to.
