Proceedings in the Courts. Mayor's Court-- Thursday, November 27. --George, slave of Diana Gary, arrested by officer Morris on the charge of stealing eleven pounds of coffee, worth $26, the property of George A. Weed, was ordered to be whipped and turned loose. James, slave of Hundley & Cance, was ordered 25 stripes for stealing a bag of sugar and other articles from his owners. Edward Mouldin, found by the police drunk and asleep in an alley, was committed in default of security for his good behavior. Ishmael Roberts, a free negro, arrested for disorderly conduct in the street, was found with a pistol in his boot-leg and ordered a thrashing for carrying unlawful weapons. Roberts was captured in Fish alley, near the New Market. Elijah Franklin and John L. Sullivan were arraigned for associating with negroes in the house of Jordana Mayo, near Warwick's mill.
