Another Garroting Base.
--On Wednesday afternoon Mr. James G. Saynor, of North Carolina, arrived in Richmond, with a view of visiting his son, in the 30th regiment from that State, supposed to have been stationed near the city.
He was met by two men, representing themselves as soldiers camping near the regiment he was looking for, and kindly offered to conduct him to it. He accepted and accompanied them up Broad street and out of the city, and upon reaching an old ice-house on the Plank-road he was suddenly seized by his guides, thrown down, and beat until almost senseless, over the head and face, with "bilies" or slung-shots.
Upon recovering himself be found that he had been robbed of all his money, ($80) his spectacles, and pocket- knife.
Returning to the city, he laid information before the police, but no arrests had been made up to yesterday afternoon.
