5--There being no choice, Mr. Floyd was dropped. Mr. Dun, of Washington, again renominated Mr. Floyd. Mr. Mallory renominated Wm. C. Rives. Several gentlemen addressed the House in advocacy of their respective candidates, and in setting themselves right on the question at issue, during which Mr. Robinson of the city of Richmond moved to members to five minutes during the further discussion of the subject, which was carried.
