. Rosecrans's lines of communication, and to isolate Burnside.--McMinnville is in Worsen county, Tenn., 75 miles from Nashville, 50 from Chattanooga, and 180 from Knoxville. The fight at McMinnville was progressing when telegraphic communication was interrupted, and the result is unknown. On the 28th ult., a force of rebels attacked the right wing of Burnside's army, and after a fight of two hours they were repulsed. The rebels hold Greenville. Another dispatch states that on Friday Wheeler's rebel cavalry were attacked at Anderson's Cross Roads, about 45 miles from Chattanooga, on the Nashville and Chattanooga railroad, by our cavalry, and badly whipped.
