From the army of Tennessee. Missionary Ridge, October 9th. --Via Chickamauga, 10th.--The enemy opened a heavy fire late yesterday afternoon on "Lookout" from a mortar battery at Moccasin Point, for the purpose of ascertaining whether our mortar batteries had been removed. After firing for an hour and failing to elicit a response they abandoned the idea. A twenty-pounder Parrott in the "Star Fort" also threw a few shells in the direction of our siege pieces for a similar purpose, but also failed. The Moccasin Point battery opened again this morning at 11 o'clock, firing very slowly at our pointers on "Lookout," The weather is clear and pleasant.
