Literary Piracy. --A private letter from England, speaking of the English reprints of Mr. Pollard's "First and Second Years of the War,"says: "--has already got possession of the field, and he will doubtless pounce upon the new volumes as soon as they appear. Estvan's 'War Pictures in the South,' published by Rutledge, is almost entirely, if not literally, a reprint of Pollard's work. The fact, if I do not err, was pointed out by the Athenœum." The New York reprint of Mr. Pollard's work was made under a fraudulent and forged transfer of his interests, effected by some cunning Yankee thief; and it appears now that he is also the victim of a literary fraud in England. In the meantime we believe Mr. Pollard has authorized reprints of his first and second volumes by the well-known London publishing house of Philip & Son.
