Wade's) occupied the extreme right of the line of battle, and, being dismounted, took a strong position upon the crest of a hill in front of and overlooking the town; the first, second, and ninth Kentucky regiments held the centre, and were posted in a dense cedar bindle on the slope of the hill and immediately upon the right of the railroad; the first Kentucky battalion, Captain.
