Through the politeness of Adjutant Kerrigan, we were permitted to converse with some of them, and, judging from their appearance and demeanor, are of the impression that they are honest in their professions of attachment to the South. They were drafted in October last in Philadelphia, and placed in the 7th Pennsylvania regiment. After a brief experience in drilling, the regiment was ordered to Fernandina, Fla., where they only remained seven days before conceiving the plan of escape.--Having perfected their arrangements, an inclement night afforded them an opportunity of carrying their designs into execution; and, after a perilous journey, they had the satisfaction of reaching our lines about ten days since.
