In Petersburg, Va., on Friday last, Dr. C. K. Marshall collected from the citizens, in a few hours, $10,000, to be devoted to procuring artificial limbs for mutilated soldiers. Gen. Bragg spent last Friday evening in Opelika, Ala. He is said to be on his way to Richmond, at which place he is ordered to report. Brig.-Gen. W. W. Mackall has been appointed Chief of Staff for Gen. Joe Johnston. The fire brigade of Charleston, S. C., numbers 450 men — almost a full regiment. V. F. Dannoy, an old citizen of New Orleans has been appointed chief of police.
