C., introduced a bill to provide that the bonds and certificates mentioned in the second section of the "act to reduce the currency, &c," be receivable in payment of all Government dues which shall have occurred prior to the first of January, 1865, except export and import duties. Referred. Also, a bill to amend the act to levy additional taxes for the common defence and support of the Government. Referred. Mr. Sparrow, from the Military Committee, reported back the bill to authorize the appointment of an ensign in each battalion of infantry. Passed.
