Baptist General Association of Virginia.
--The Baptist General Association of Virginia convened in this city on yesterday afternoon at the First Baptist (Dr Burrows's) Church.
Introductory religious exercises were conducted by Rev Dr W F Broades.
The following officers were elected: President — Hon R L Vice Presidents--D Witt, T Hume, W F Broaddus, R Kyland.
Treasurer — J B Watkins.
Secretary — A P Abell.
After the enrollment of delegates the following resolution, offered by Rev A E Dickinson, was unanimously adopted:
Resolved, That a committee of five be appointed to consider the property of some plan by which, as a denomination, we may provide for the maintenance and education of the children of soldiers who have died or been disabled during the war.
On motion of Rev Dr Jeter, a committee of five was appointed to report suitable resolutions to be adopted by the body in relation to the condition of the country.
