Local matters.Confederate States District Court. Judge Halyburton presided in this court for a short while on Saturday. The following cases received his attention: John Osborne, petitioning for discharge from military service on the ground of being a mail contractor, had his case disposed of. The Judge granted the justice of the petitioner's claims, and he was therefore set at liberty. Joshua Chilcutt, petitioning under habeas corpus for discharge from service on the ground of being a Marylander, and therefore undomiciled in the Confederacy, failed to establish his claim, and was therefore remanded to the custody of his captain. The habeas corpus case of Daniel B. Smith was continued till Tuesday. After which the court adjourned to meet on the 21st instant.
