A Burglar shot. --Between two and three o'clock yesterday morning, as Chief-of-Police Reuben T. Seal and officer William S. Jenkins were passing through Adams street, between Grace and Broad, their attention was drawn to a negro man, coming out of the intersecting alley, carrying upon his shoulders a barrel of flour. Upon approaching the fellow, he let fall the flour, which nearly fell upon Mr. Jenkins, and took through the alley as fast as his legs could carry him. Three shots were fired at him--one by Captain Seal and two by Mr. Jenkins, more than one of which, it is believed, took effect.
