Ranaway --About the 20th of July, from the subscriber, a negro man, named John Kemp. He is about 5 feet 10 inches high, of dark color, stammering address and quick movement, looks down when spoken to, and appears to laugh. He had on when last seen gray shirt and pants and military cap. He has a scar near the line of his collar. A reward of ten dollars will be given for his apprehension and delivery to me, or in jail. A Citizen of Petersburg captured by the enemy. --Captain Charles Ledbetter, of this city, was taken prisoner by the Yankees a day or two since, below the Confederate lines, and carried off to close confinement. In obedience to the urgent request of one or two friends, the Captain had agreed to go down the river a little distance to transact some important business, and while in the act of so doing, he was confronted and seized by Yankee pickets and hurried away. Two or three other persons in company with him at the time, were likewise taken prisoners. Among them was Mr. James Lucas, Confederate postmaster at Brandon Church.--Petersburg Express, 16th.

Covington on the charge preferred by a soldier of selling liquor at the Georgia House, at 50 cents per drink, and deserting from his company in face of the enemy, and John Larmus for acting as a substitute agent and enticing soldiers to desert for the purpose of selling themselves as substitutes.

Death of Antoine Michaud. --We have to chronicle the death of one of the oldest inhabitants of the city, Mr. Antoine Michaud.
