2. sit down in, occupy, a country, encamp, Th.2.18, 7.77; settle, “εἰς χώρανOGI201.13 (Nubia, vi A.D.).
II. remain seated, in various senses:
1. sit still, with collat. notion of inaction, τίφθ᾽ οὕτως κατ᾽ ἄρ᾽ ἕζεαι ἶσος ἀναύδῳ; Od.10.378, cf.6.295.
3. sit for one's portrait, Porph.Plot.1.
