2. trans., ς. δύναμιν supply a force with provisions, victual it, Plb.4.63.10, etc.; “τὸν δῆμον” IG12 (7).389.15 (Aegiale, ii B.C.):—Pass., οἱ πεζοὶ σιτομετροῦνταί τι they have it served out as rations, Plb.6.39.13, cf. IGRom.3.679 (Tlos).— Phryn.360, Thom.Mag.p.335 R., object to the word, preferring σῖτον μετροῦμαι.
