θρῴσκω From Root ΘΟΡ, which appears in fut. and aor2.

I.to leap, spring, ἐκ δίφροιο, ἀπὸ λέκτροιο Hom.; of arrows, ἀπὸ νευρῆφι θρῶσκον Il.; of the oar, Soph.
2.foll. by prep. to leap upon, i. e. attack, assault, ἐπὶ Τρώεσσι θόρον Il.: —of a recurring illness, to attack, Soph.
3.generally, to rush, dart, Pind., Soph.:—metaph., πεδάρσιοι θρώσκουσι leap up into air, i. e. vanish away, Aesch.
II.trans. to mount, ὁ θρώσκων the sire, id=Aesch.
