2. ἅτερος [α_], Att. contr. for ὁ ἅτερος, Com.Adesp.14.23 D., Pl.Lg.695b, etc.; also neut. θάτερον, gen. θα_τέρου, dat. θα_τέρῳ, θα_τέρᾳ, or with mark of crasis, θἀτέρου, etc.; but contr. forms when the Art. ends with a conson., are incorrect, as “θάτερον τὸν τόπον” Str.2.1.20, cf.Luc.
