A.of or for three years, “τριέτεα χρόνον” Hdt.1.199; “τ. φορά” IG42(1).121.9 (Epid., iv B. C.); “πλέον ἢ τ. ἐγένευ φίλος” Theoc.29.17, cf. BCH48.518 (Palestine); “τ. προθεσμία” Pl.Lg.954d (in 793d τρι᾽ ἔτη is restored by Bekker): τρίετες as Adv., for three years, Od.2.106, 13.377.
2. three years old, “ἵππος” Arist.HA545b13; “παιδίον” Artem. 4.39: τρίετες, τό, the age of three years, “ἀπὸ τριέτους μέχρι τῶν ἓξ ἐτῶν” Pl.Lg.794a, cf. Arist.HA545b3:—fem. τρι^ετ-έτις , Supp.Epigr.6.125 (Cotiaeum).
