προ-χοή (A), ἡ, (προχέω) poet. noun, almost always pl.,
A.outpouring, i.e. mouth, of a river, “ἐπὶ προχοῇσι διιπετέος ποταμοῖο” Il.17.263; “ἐς ποταμοῦ προχοάς” Od.5.453; “ἐν προχοῇς ποταμοῦ” 11.242; “ἐν προχοῇς . . Ὠκεανοῖο” 20.65; “Τριτωνίδος ἐν προχοαῖς λίμνας” Pi.P.4.20, cf. Anacr. 28 codd., B.6.3, A.Supp.1025 (lyr.), Ar.Nu.272, Theoc.Chius in FHG ii 86, Call.Fr.480, etc.; θερμαῖς ὕδατος μαλακοῦ π. A.Fr.192.8 (anap.); “ὕδατος προχοὰς χειμερίους” AP9.147 (Antag.): sg. is dub. l. in Hes.Op. 757; προχοὴ τῶν ὑδάτων discharge of amniotic fluid, Cat.Cod.Astr.8(4).127.
