2.at Athens, by the constitution of Solon., the θῆτες were the fourth class, (the other three being πεντακοσιομέδιμνοι, ἱππεῖς, ζευγίται) , including all whose property in land was under 150 medimni, Plut.: they were employed as light-armed and seamen.
