σῶς the ionic σόος, is used by Hom. in all cases except the nom. sg. σῶς. σῶος, used by attic writers only in pl. σῶοι, σῶαι, σῶα. the radic. form σάος, occurs in the comp. σα^ώτερος, v. sub σάος.
