Hermus

Ἕρμος). A large river in Asia Minor, rising in Mount
Dindymené, and after flowing through the plain of Sardis, falling into the Gulf of
Smyrna, between Smyrna and Phocaea. It formed the boundary between Aeolia and Ionia.

τὸ Ἕρμος). A deme of Attica, belonging to the tribe
Acamantis, on the road from Athens to Eleusis.
