γεγενημένας I believe this to be the true reading, and not γιγνομένας (=αἳ ἐγίγνοντο, adopted by Benseler from the Urbino ms.), because the perf. better expresses the feeling of Isocr. that this glorious chapter of Athenian history was closed. The πράξεις are the political and social life of Athens under the Old Democracy, and before the rule of the demagogues. Isocr. would date the latter from the death of Pericles — regarding the administration of Pericles as a transitional period, in which the deterioration, moral and political, was mitigated by the personal qualities of the leader: see esp. De Pace § 126, p. 109, Περικλῆς...λαβὼν τὴν πόλιν χεῖρον μὲν φρονοῦσαν...ἔτι δ᾽ ἀνεκτῶς πολιτευομένην, κ.τ.λ.

καλῶς καὶ τὰ πρὸς σφᾶς αὐτοὺς εἶχον, κ.τ.λ. ‘were so happy in their relations to each other [i.e. in their social and private life], and in their administration of the Commonwealth’. Cp. Thuc. II. 37, ἀνεπαχθῶς δὲ τὰ ἴδια προσομιλοῦντες τὰ δημόσια διὰ δέος μάλιστα οὐ παρανομοῦμεν.
