Ante'nor
(
Ἀντήνωρ), a Greek writer of uncertain date, wrote a work upon the history of Crete, which on account of its excellence was called
Δέλτα, inasmuch as, says Ptolemy Hephaestion (
ap. Phot. Cod. 190, p. 151b. Bekk.), the Cretans called that which is good
Δέλτον. (Aelian,
Ael. NA 17.35; Plut.
de Mal. Herod. 100.32.)
