Elliott, Charles, 1792-1869

Clergyman; born in Greenconway, Ireland, May 16, 1792; became a member of the Wesleyan Church; came to the United States about 1815; joined the Ohio Methodist conference in 18. He was the author of History of the Great secession from the Methodist Episcopal Church; Southwestern Methodism; two publications against slavery, etc. He died in Mount Pleasant, Ia., Jan. 6, 1869.
