the depot and at the request of several gentlemen, they played the Star-Spangled Banner, Washington's March, Hail Columbia, and Yankee Doodle, and were greatly cheered.
This regiment carry with them a magnificent horse, said to be one of the best-blooded animals in the country, and which will be presented to Lieutenant-General Winfield Scott as a testimonial of the regard of his friends.
The animal attracted considerable attention, and was purchased for the sum of $2,300.--Baltimore American, June 18.
