Ho! What are you doing at the palace? Why do you loiter about here, [30] Phoebus? Are you engaged in more injustice, curtailing and annulling the prerogatives of the gods below? Was it not enough that you prevented the death of Admetus, tripping up the Fates by cunning trickery? Are you now [35] standing guard, bow in hand, over her, Pelias' daughter,¹ who promised to free her husband by dying in his stead?
