A.[kudot ]innamon, a superior kind of cassia, Cinnamomum Cassia, Hdt.3.111, Thphr.HP9.5.1, PSI6.628 (iii B.C.), OGI 214.59 (Didyma, iii B.C.), etc.: κι^νάμωμον , D.P.945 (pl.), also in codd. of D.S.1.91, v.l. in Hdt.l.c.; cf. κίνναμον.
II. name of a fabulous Indian bird, said to make its nest of twigs of κιννάμωμον (cf. κινναμολόγος), Arist.HA616a6, Antig.Mir.43, Ael.NA2.34.
