ἐπιστα^δόν , Adv., (ἐφίστημι, ἐπιστῆναι)
A.standing over each in turn (“ἐφιστάμενος ἑκάστῳEM364.35), i.e. one after another, successively, νείκεον ἄλλοθεν ἄλλον . Od.12.392; νώμησεν δ᾽ ἄρα πᾶσιν . 13.54; standing by, A.R.1.293; . οὐτάζοντες standing up to each other, Id.2.84.—The words of Od.16.453, δόρπον . ὡπλίζοντο, seem to have given rise to the other expl. of the Sch., ἐπισταμένως, ἐμπείρως (as if from ἐπίσταμαι).
