A.φαγεῖAnon. in EN448.16; φαγέοις in edd. of Ps.-Phoc.157 is v. dub.), used as aor. 2 of ἐσθίω; later 1pl. “ἐφάγαμενLXX 2 Ki. 19.42 cod.B, 3pl. ἐφάγοσαν ib.Ge.18.8: later fut. is φάγομαι, ib.Si.36.23, Ev.Luc.14.15; 2sg. “φάγεσαιLXX Ru.2.14, Ev.Luc.17.8; “φάγῃLXX Ge.3.14; also φαγοῦμαι ib. 2(v.l.); fut. φαγήσω is v. dub. in Lib.Or. 53.29:—eat, devour, both of men and beasts, freq. in Hom.; “ἀζηχὲς φαγέμεν καὶ πιέμενOd.18.3, cf. 15.378, Pl.Lg.831e; reversely, “πιόντα φαγόνταId.Prt.314a, cf.
