A.of, relating to colour:—but only found,
II. metaph., in Rhet., offering a colourable pretext (χρῶμα IV.4), τὸ χ., as name of a form of rebuttal, Aps.p.273H. (v.l. χρωμάτιον).
2. in Music, chromatic (cf. χρῶμα IV. 3), “μελῳδίαD.H.Comp.19; μέλος, opp. διάτονον, ἐναρμόνιον, Alciphr.1.18, cf. Aristox(?).Oxy.667.1; τὸ -κὸν [γένος] the chromatic genus, Plu.2.744c, cf. Phld.Mus.p.63K., Ph.1.321.
