II.to bring about, accomplish, effect, settle, Hdt.; δ. τί τινι to get a thing done for a man, id=Hdt.: —so in Mid., id=Hdt.; perf. pass. in mid. sense, Plat., etc.:—strictly in sense of Mid., to effect for oneself, gain one's point, Hdt., Xen.: c. inf. to manage that, id=Xen.
