σύνειμι1 1 εἰμί sum

I.to be with, be joined or linked with a thing, c. dat., Od.; periphr. for a simple Verb, ς. ὀνείρασιν to dream, Aesch.; ς. νόσῳ νοσεῖν, Soph.; κακοῖς πολλοῖς ξ. to be acquainted with miseries, id=Soph.; ς. πράγμασι to be engaged in business, Ar.; ς. ἡδοναῖς, λύπαις, δείμασι Plat.;—reversely, ἐμοὶ ξύνεστιν ἐλπίς Eur.; and absol., ἆται ἀεὶ ξυνοῦσαι Soph.; χρόνος ξυνὼν μακρός id=Soph.
II.to have intercourse with a person, live with, τινι id=Soph., Eur., etc.; μετά τινος Ar.
2.to live with a husband, = συνοικέω, Hdt.
3.to attend, as to a pupil attends a master, Xen., etc.; of the teacher, id=Xen.:— οἱ συνόντες associates, disciples, partisans, Plat.
4.to have dealings with, τινι Thuc.; ς. ἵπποις to have to do with them, Plat.
5.to take part with, τινι Aesch., etc.
