ἄνωγα , perf. w. pres. meaning, imp. ἄνωχθι, -ώχθω and -ωγείτω, -ωχθε and -ώχετε, inf. -ωγέμεν, plup. ἠνώγεα, ἠνώγει and -ειν, ἀνώγει (also forms that may be referred to ἀνώγω as pres. and ipf.), ἀνώγει, -ετον, subj. ἀνώγῃ, opt. ἀνώγοιμι, ipf. ἤνωγον, ἄνωγον, fut. ἀνώξω, aor. ἤνωξα: bid, command; foll. by acc. and inf., ἄνωχθι δέ μιν γαμέεσθαι, Od. 2.113; very seldom w. dat. of person, δέμνἰ ἄνωγεν ὑποστορέσαι δμωῇσιν, Od. 20.139; freq. joined with ἐπο- τρυ?νω, κέλομαι, and esp. w. θυ_μός, (two accusatives) τά με θυ_μὸς ἀνώγει, Il. 19.102.
