(ipf., aor. 1 and 2 act.), fit on or together, join, fit with; rafters in build ing a house, Il. 23.712; of constructing a wall, Il. 16.212; joining two horns to make a bow, Il. 4.110 ; νἦ ἄρσα_ς ἐρετῇσιν, ‘fitting out’ with oarsmen, Od. 1.280; pass., μᾶλλον δὲ στίχες ἄρθεν, ‘closed up,’ Il. 16.211; met.
