Ripley, Roswell Sabine 1823-1887

Soldier; born in Worthington, O., March 14, 1823; graduated at the United States Military Academy in 1843; served in the Mexican and Civil wars, and in 1861 was appointed brigadier-general. He published, in 1849, a History of the Mexican War. He died in New York City, March 26, 1887.
