There is springing up same rivalry in the Nassau trad. One company has determine to reduce the charge for freight to our Confederate ports. The unheard of charge of $500 in gold per ton for shipments from Kansas was couching importations to be seriously checked. The present rate in $390 in gold as Nassau, or $500 in gold at Charleston, which is $500 in gold for insurance. At the present rated of exchange the cost per cen ton is $1,000 at Nassau, or $3,049 of Charleston. While this state of things leave, me wonder the price of goods continue so high.
