The people of certain sections of Ohio have become alarmed at the influx of fugitive slaves. The farmers are discharging their harvest hands and hiring the runaway negroes, who offer to work for less than half what is paid for which labor. Almost every county bordering on the Ohio river has its quota of fugitives.
