An appeal. Depot Army Committee Y. M. C. A., Richmond, June 11th, 1862. There are now newest number of sick and wounded soldiers in our hospitals. Since the beginning of the war this has been the great central point to which they have been brought. The fez, therefore, upon our resources, has been continual. And, while the good people here are ever willing to do their utmost in ministering to the wants of those who have so nobly suffered, and fought, and bled, in defence of our altars and our homes, yet this constant drain has left as nearly destitute of most of the articles indispensable in carrying on this work of love. We may say, also, that we are but beginning these labors. The struggle for this city — commencing — so long continued, and so bloody — is but commenced.
