Indictments. --The Hustings Court Grand Jury, yesterday, made the following indictments: John Hagan, charged with extorting forty dollars from James Evans, a man of mixed blood; Austin Conley, for receiving stolen goods, knowing them to be stolen; George W. Cassidy, for burglariously entering the store of John Does, and taking sundry goods therefrom; Edward Keiling, for aiding and abetting Charles Moore alias Richard Wright, in stabbing Frederick Smith, in March last; William Blankenship, for shooting Geo. Crow, on the 10th of February last; James Austin, for stealing railroad car springs on the 1st of February last; Christopher Kissel, for receiving stolen car springs from James Austin, knowing them to be stolen. The case of Dennis Lynch, charged with stabbing James Shea, was called at the instance of the prisoner's counsel, Mr. Gilmer, and continued until the next term.
A victory every sixty-six hours. --The New York Post says, that since the first of February, and up to the capture of Memphis, the Union armies have gained fifty-three victories over the rebels — The storming of the enemy's works on White river, makes the fifty fourth. This is at the rate of one victory every sixty-six hours for nearly four months past.
Runaway in the army. --My man George ran away the 1st day of February, and probably joined our army, as it passed Gordonsville from Manassas to Richmond. He was seen with an artillery company, having pack mules with it, passing from Fairfield into Richmond in May, and is doubtless passing as a free man, and may have changed to other kind of army service, or may be in the city, and most likely as cook or waiter. He is 23 to 25 years old, black, neat, round features, weighs about 160 pounds, 5 feet 8 to 10 inches high, likely, and has a hoarse, confused manner of speech, and has probably changed his name. I will give $100 for his delivery in jail, so that I get him again. S. W. Ficklin. jy 30--6t Charlottesville, Va.
