Before any definite action, the Senate adjourned to meet at 7 o'clock, P. M. In the House, sundry bills were reported, among them one to authorize a loan from the Literary Fund to Alleghany College. A petition was presented from citizens of Culpeper county asking that one fifth of the State revenue be appropriated for arming the people and putting the State on a war footing. The House voted down a substitute offered for 1st section of the Convention bill, which, after being further amended and read three times, was passed by a unanimous vote. At the night session of the Senate, House bill for the holding of a State Convention was taken up, and being amended so as to make the time of holding the same the 13th instead of the 11th of February, was passed ayes 45, noes 1. Senate amendment will doubtless be concurred in by the House to-day.
