House.--After unimportant business, the House went into Committee of the Whole on the Legislative and Executive bill, which, after being amended in some particulars, was passed. Mr. Etheridge, of Tenn., made an attempt to introduce, by unanimous consent, the resolutions adopted by the Border States Committee of Conference. The House voted 83 for and 78 against suspending the rule for their introduction. Mr. Adrain asked leave to offer a resolution approving of the "bold and patriotic" act of Anderson in occupying Fort Sumter, and the determination of the President to maintain him in his present position; also to enforce the laws and preserve the Union. The House suspended the rules for its admission, by a vote of 134 to 53, and the resolution was adopted — ayes 124, nays 56.
