It appears that the transmission of news from Corinth has been stopped by order of the commanding General; hence the silence of our correspondent at that point. A dispatch to the Savannah Republican, dated Mobile, May 27th, says-- "Gen. Beauregard has issued an order prohibiting the use of the telegraph from Corinth, and requiring all correspondents to retire from the army. This is done because of a telegram to the Memphis Appeal by its correspondent, notwithstanding "it had bee important and bloody events pending at Corinth heightens and intensifies. A private dispatch was received in this city yesterday from Major-General VanDorn stating that the fight would commence yesterday. A dispatch was also received from Gen. Beauregard making inquiries as to the hospitals at this place for the accommodation of the wounded. The dispatches which we published yesterday showed that the enemy was heavily reinforced. Everything seemed to indicate the proximity of the conflict.
