When Bennett the elder referred slurringly to the poets of the Post and the Post declared that Bennett was not a journalist, a momentous divergence and chang changes are exemplified in the work of James Gordon Bennett (1794-1872), though he originated few oed keen characterization and deft allusions. Bennett saw a public who would not buy a serious papeeet, shop, and factory. To reach this public Bennett began the New York Herald, a small paper, frend indeed many editorials were signed.
